Welcome to Kidd’s Preschool Enrichment Center's November 2016 Newsletter - Happening at the J! We are excited to share with you the incredibly diverse range of events, activities, and programs that took place at the Shaw JCC of Akron during this exciting month. From educational workshops and art classes to family-friendly social gatherings, November was packed with enriching experiences for preschoolers, parents, and community members alike.
Featured Programs and Workshops
Our November calendar was brimming with engaging programs and workshops designed to foster creativity, enhance physical development, and nurture cognitive skills in our young learners.
1. Art Explorations
In collaboration with local artists, we organized an Art Explorations workshop series aimed at inspiring our children's imagination, encouraging self-expression, and developing their artistic abilities. Through a variety of mediums such as painting, sculpting, and collage, our little artists discovered new techniques and created unique masterpieces that adorned the walls of our center.
2. Science Adventures
With a strong focus on inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiments, our Science Adventures program sparked curiosity and a love for science among our preschoolers. They enjoyed thrilling experiments, such as creating volcanoes, erupting baking soda and vinegar reactions, and exploring the wonders of magnetism. Science truly came alive at Kidd's Preschool Enrichment Center!
Community Events
We believe in building a strong sense of community among our preschool families and the greater Akron community. November offered several opportunities for fun-filled gatherings, fostering connections and creating lifelong memories.
1. Fall Family Festival
Our Fall Family Festival was a grand celebration of the season. Families joined us for a day of festive activities, including pumpkin decorating, apple bobbing, hayrides, and a corn maze. Laughter and joy filled the air as parents and children bonded over these delightful traditions.
2. Community Thanksgiving Feast
As a gesture of gratitude, we organized a Community Thanksgiving Feast, inviting our preschool families and community members to partake in a shared meal. Together, we enjoyed a sumptuous potluck featuring traditional Thanksgiving dishes, heartfelt conversations, and a sense of unity that exemplifies the spirit of this special holiday.
Parent Education and Engagement
At Kidd's Preschool Enrichment Center, we understand the importance of involving parents in their child's learning journey. November was dedicated to empowering parents through informative and interactive sessions.
1. Early Literacy Workshop
In partnership with renowned literacy specialists, we offered an Early Literacy Workshop that equipped parents with valuable strategies to enhance their child's language development. From fostering a love for reading to incorporating storytelling techniques at home, parents gained insights into how they can actively contribute to their child's literacy journey.
2. Mindful Parenting Seminar
